More Balloons on the Beach! Stop Littering In Carlsbad California

Just north of Tamarack beach in Carlsbad, I found two balloons in the surf today. Lucily I wear sandlas with my work clothes so I could slip those off and go to the water to retrieve the trash. Those were just waiting to be popped and ending up as little pieces in the guts of little fish and birds. It’s DISGUSTING! Every time I see litter on the beach I want the beaches to be declared off limits to humans.  Even though I walk on the beach almost every day, it would be worth the sacrifice for a cleaner ocean.

I do not like balloons any more. They just end up as pollution. :(

Cardiff Trash in June

A hot cup of soup would have been more comforting than a cold cup of trash. I did not have a bag so I picked up 5 handfuls of trash this weekend. I got a few random “Thank You’s” which is always nice. 

 As you can see from the background it is a beautiful beach. What a shame that this litter is so intrusive and that we allow it to get so bad.  I dare you to buy half of your food that isn’t packaged. Try more fresh veggies and fruit, reusable containers and shopping at the farmers market. If you have to buy packaged go for thin paper that can easily degrade and be recycled. Thank you.
